Preparing Your Auto for Transport:

  • For vehicle transport, your auto should be operable and safe.
  • Have your vehicle checked, prior to shipment, for any leaking fluids to avoid repercussions as you may be responsible for the damage.
  • Your vehicle may not exceed the height limit of 7 feet. Please contact a ShipMyVehicle customer service agent, if your vehicle is taller than 7 feet.
  • Your vehicle is required to have a minimum of 4 inches of ground clearance to safely load and unload your vehicle.
  • Inform us of any modifications made to your vehicle prior to auto transport i.e. vehicle lowered, 4X4 lift kit, etc.
  • For the origin physical inspection of your vehicle, your auto should be clean.
  • During auto shipping, the gas tank should have no more than (¼) tank of fuel.
  • Before a vehicle can be shipped, alarm systems must be disconnected.
  • Removal of un-mounted radios, CD or cassette decks and car phones is required.
  • Removal or full retraction of all antennas is required prior to shipping.
  • Removal of personal belongings is required (exception: standard vehicle items-jack, spare tire, etc.) prior to shipping.
  • Removal of non-permanent luggage, bike or ski racks required prior to transport.
  • Vehicle preparation for the new climate prior to auto shipping. May include engine coolant, transmission oil, etc.

Inspection Procedures for Shipping Your Auto

  • At both origin and destination you will be asked to sign the bill of lading and condition report.
  • For the vehicle shipping inspection at pick up and delivery, you (or your auto transport representative) must be present.
  • Upon delivery of your vehicle and BEFORE THE DRIVER LEAVES, you are responsible for confirming that your vehicle’s condition is the same as when it was picked-up for transport.
  • If any auto damage from transport is noted, you MUST write a clear description on the bill of lading.

  3. The ShipMyVehicle.com representative consults with the customer about available vehicle shipping options and services accessible based upon the vehicle's origin and destination.
  4. A ShipMyVehicle.com representative books the auto shipping order and secures payment from the customer for the automobile shipping.
  5. The customer is contracted to schedule the vehicle pickup for automobile shipping.
  6. The vehicle is picked up from the residence or business for automobile shipping.
  7. The vehicle is transported to the destination terminal.
  8. The customer is then contacted to schedule delivery.
  9. The vehicle is delivered to the customer's location.

Terminal to Terminal Automobile Shipping Process

  • A terminal representative contacts the customer when the vehicle is available for pick up as per automobile shipping order.
  • The customer picks up the vehicle from the terminal within the allotted time frame as per automobile shipping order.
